How will development, trains get along?

It's interesting to see our village always evolving into a great place to live - that is, for most.

K. Hovnanian and Metra are currently working on their own projects as we speak and one must wonder if they are going to be good neighbors. K. Hovnanian is working on constructing their new community of townhouses, Parkside, located on the former Borlander property on Winchester, while Metra is putting in a new siding for commuter trains to branch off the main line while trains in the opposite direction go by.

An existing bypass has been in Grayslake for years but the one in Libertyville was just recently announced at the county website. Wonder how many of those potential or new homeowners are going to be aware that Metra trains with their diesel engines are going to be idling a few yards away now that both projects are active.
