Historical museum to host Holiday Teas

The Arlington Heights Historical Museum will be hosting three teas this holiday season in the 100-year-old historic Banta House, 517 Vail St., Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11.

Doll Tea with Fancy Nancy!: 10:30 a.m. Dec. 10. Doll lovers of all ages will enjoy this special tea. Participants have a detailed look at displays of the historic Martha Mills doll collection and view the Lorraine Korenthal dollhouses. Staff will read "Fancy Nancy: Fanciest Doll in the Universe" for the younger visitors. Visitors are encouraged to dress very fancy, just like Nancy. Dolls are welcome. The tea includes sandwiches, homemade sweets, pots of tea and punch.

Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Tea: 2 p.m. Dec. 10. Dressed fancy, just like Nancy, staff will read "Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas" and enjoy harp music in the parlor. Tea sandwiches and sweets are on the menu, along with hot tea and holiday punch.

Tea at the Museum: 1:30 p.m. Dec. 11. There will b finger sandwiches and sweets accompanied by pots of tea and punch. The halls are decked, and the tables are set with linens and silver.

The cost is $25 per person. Children must be 5 years and older for the Fancy Nancy Teas and accompanied by a paid adult to attend. Register online at https://apm.activecommunities.com/ahpd by Friday, Dec. 2.

The Arlington Heights Historical Museum collects and preserves significant materials relating to our past and shares them through educational and recreational activities that promote community heritage and pride.

The museum is run through a partnership between the Arlington Heights Historical Society, the Arlington Heights Park District, and the Village of Arlington Heights.
