Seven taken to hospital after crash on Higgins

Seven people were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries after a four-vehicle crash on Higgins Road about halfway between Route 53 and Arlington Heights Road Friday evening.
Elk Grove firefighters said the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of Higgins Road around 6:30 p.m.
One patient was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove.
Three other patients were taken to Northwest Community Hospital, while the remaining three were driven to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed to make way for emergency vehicles. The scene was clean by around 9 p.m.
