VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) - A Westville woman faces felony charges after being accused of drunken driving and causing an accident that resulted in the death of a passenger on a motorcycle.
The (Northwest Indiana) Times (http://bit.ly/2eLVvHS ) reports 24-year-old Rachel Dover is charged with two different counts of drunken driving resulting in a death and two different counts of drunken driving causing serious bodily injury. She's also charged with misdemeanor drunken driving.
Dover told authorities she didn't see a motorcycle that struck her vehicle Saturday. Police say they used a portable breath test and found Dover had a blood alcohol content of 0.23 percent.
Police say 55-year-old Nanette Howard was airlifted to an Illinois hospital and later died. The driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries.
It wasn't immediately clear if Dover has an attorney.
