Police: Beach Park pedestrian struck by two vehicles

A pedestrian who died Tuesday night in Beach Park was struck by two vehicles, authorities said Wednesday.

Lake County sheriff's spokesman Christopher Covelli said the investigation showed the victim was likely crossing Sheridan Road from the west side of the roadway to the east when he was struck first by a northbound Chrysler, then hit again by a northbound Chevrolet.

Police said the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing, and the roadway was unlit in the area he was crossing.

Both drivers were not injured and are cooperating with police, Covelli said.
