Palatine man sentenced to 10 years for sexually abusing two girls
A Palatine man who admitted to sexually abusing two girls was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison.
Fernando Sanchez-Paz, 38, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life and pay $1,414 in fines.
Sanchez-Paz pleaded guilty Monday to predatory criminal sexual assault, for which he was sentenced to six years, and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, for which he was sentenced to four years.
Cook County Judge Steven Wagner ordered the sentences be served consecutively.
Wagner issued the victims an order of protection that extends until October 2031.
Prosecutors say Sanchez-Paz abused the girls - one a high school student and the other a middle school student - sometime between Jan. 1, 2012, and Dec. 31, 2013.
Sanchez-Paz received credit for 377 days in custody.
