Elk Grove brothers get prison time for robbing convenience store
Two brothers from Elk Grove Village pleaded guilty Wednesday to holding up a convenience store earlier this year.
Andrew Tompkins, 19, and Nicholas Tompkins, 22, pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, a class 1 felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
They were both sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to pay $714 in fines, according to court records.
Prosecutors say the brothers entered a 7-Eleven store about 3 a.m. Feb. 9 armed with steak knives. They left with $490 and 10 packs of cigarettes.
