See 'The Insanity of God' at Vineyard Church Sunday

Vineyard Church of Elgin, 220 Division St., will host a live simulcast viewing of "The Insanity of God" at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

The film, based on the book of the same name, tells the story of missionaries Nik and Ruth Ripken and the incredible testimonials of persecuted Christians around the world.

The Ripkens spent years doing relief work in Somalia, one of the most challenging places on earth, eventually leading them to the question: "Is Jesus worth it?"

How does faith survive, let alone flourish, in places that are overcome with the darkness of sin, despair and hopelessness? The Ripkens began searching for answers - and finding them - by traveling to nations where Christians are heavily persecuted and seeking out stories. "The Insanity of God" tells how believers in persecution inspire us all how to follow Jesus and walk with Him daily even when it "doesn't make sense."

The public is welcome to attend this viewing. Participants are encouraged to arrive by 5:45 p.m., as the simulcast begins promptly at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Visit www.elginvineyard.com.
