Honoring veterans in St. Charles

The City of St. Charles Annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, inside St. Charles Fire Station 1, at 112 N. Riverside Ave.

"Veterans Day is a holiday set aside to honor and thank the men and women who served our nation in the military, both in wartime and peace," said Mayor Ray Rogina. "It is a day when everyone can acknowledge what our veterans have sacrificed in performing the honorable duty of guarding our national security. We hope to see a good crowd at the ceremony again this year."

The ceremony will begin with a reading of the official Veterans Day Proclamation, followed by an invocation, salute to the flag, gun salute and taps. For details, visit www.stcharlesil.gov.
