Chicago man charged in Bartlett home burglary

A Chicago man was charged with burglary after a home inspector caught him stealing copper piping from an unoccupied Bartlett house, police said.

David Williams, 35, was arrested about 9:20 a.m. Monday as he tried to flee in a black Ford pickup truck from a house for sale on the 400 block of Devon Avenue, Bartlett police said.

Police received a suspicious person report from the home inspector, who found the suspect in the basement near copper piping that was recently cut from the house, police said.
