How bar associations rate Cook County judge candidates

The Northwest and West suburban bar associations and the Illinois State Bar Association are among more than a dozen organizations whose members evaluated Cook County judicial candidates running in Tuesday's election.

Bar association members evaluate candidates based on experience, knowledge of the law, temperament, fairness, integrity, courtroom management and other criteria.

The Daily Herald combined their recommendations, including retention recommendations, in a grid that voters can take with them into the voting booth. Recommendations are also available online at VoteforJudges.org.
