Still wondering about election issues
The election is close and I'm still wondering about some things.
Mrs. Clinton and Democrats say that the rich must pay their fair share. I get it, you go after the people with money, still about 45 percent of filers don't pay federal income tax. What is their fair share? I know that it is not politically correct to ask that question but I believe that everyone who lives in this country, from the richest to the poorest has an obligation to support it, don't you?
What exactly is comprehensive immigration reform? If it turns out to be amnesty, why are we rewarding people who broke our laws? How is this fair to people who are trying to enter this country legally? If the Democrats feel that it is so important to pass immigration reform why wasn't it passed the first two years that President Obama was in office when they controlled the Congress? I'm presuming that it really isn't that important to them.
Mrs. Clinton says that she does not want to take away my firearms, is that also her private position?
I'm of the opinion that the appointment of judges, whether to an Appellate Court or to the Supreme Court is nothing more than a political appointment. Let's face it, a President Clinton will appoint someone quite different to the Supreme Court than a President Trump. How can the Constitution be interpreted so differently? It has to be viewed then through a political prism, don't you think?
How is the free college initiative going to help people like my son, who probably be 40 by the time he pays off his college loan debt? Will free college automatically mean a job so they can pay taxes to send more kids to college for free?
