Probation for Palatine store owner charged with theft
A Palatine convenience store owner was sentenced to two days in jail and two years of probation after pleading guilty to buying stolen items and reselling them.
Manoj Bharucha, 47, was sentenced last week, according to court records.
Police say undercover officers from Palatine and Mount Prospect sold Bharucha bottles of purportedly stolen liquor at his Palatine convenience store on the 400 block of East Palatine Road over five months. They say Bharucha resold the items at his Buffalo Grove convenience store, located on the 200 block of Dundee Road.
