No more out-of- contact banter

Mr. Roskam, U.S. 6th Congressional District, how excited I was to see your most recent flyer in my mailbox. It led with, "Peter Roskam is standing up for families when they need it the most and working across the aisle to find solutions." "Working across the aisle to find solutions."

Come on: Who are you fooling? For at least the past two years and longer, you have been among the Republican leaders carrying the obstructionist mantle, ensuring there was no cooperation across party lines. The only aisle you may have crossed in the past two years is the one leading to the Republican members of the Senate.

I think I'll vote for your opponent, Amanda Howland, instead. She is a trained mediator who has pledged to work across the aisle to help families throughout our district to be more prosperous and safe. At least, she won't ensure another term for this meaningless, out-of-contact with your constituents banter.
