Santa Graduates from School

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SANTA GRADUATES FROM SCHOOL

MIDLAND, MICHIGAN - October 29, 2016 - Santa Claus isn't coming to town; he's already here according to Tom Valent, Dean of the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School.

Valent heads the World's Oldest Santa School, which was established in 1937. Often described as the "Harvard" of Santa Schools, it just graduated the Class of 2016. Among the 200 students were Hawthorn Woods residents, Larry and Mary Hill, who graduated Magna Cum Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Hill earned his red suspenders and Mrs. Claus her mop hat during the 40-hour curriculum. Classes included Santa facts and legends, radio and television interviews, proper use of stomach muscles to say "Ho-ho-ho," sign language and toy making.

"Among all the fun things we did in class, I enjoyed the reindeer flight lessons the best. I was a little rusty guiding Rudolph," said Hill.

"It's astonishing," exclaimed Hill. "The number of things I learned about Santa that I didn't know." As examples, Hill pointed out that Santa is the world's largest employer of elves and that candy canes are made from reindeer milk.

As a result of his new diploma, Hill was recently elected head of the Amalgamated Santa Helpers Union, Local 12-25.

The Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School is a non-profit organization established in 1937. It is the longest continuously running Santa Claus School in the world. The mission of the school is to uphold the traditions and preserve the history of Santa Claus and to provide our students with the necessary resources that allow them to further define and improve their individual presentations of Santa Claus.

The Class of 2016 included participants from all over the United States, Canada, Denmark, England, Italy, and Norway.

Hill is currently polishing his boots and sleigh bells as he gets ready to visit children and adults throughout the Chicagoland area this December. No doubt you'll see him or one of his fellow white beards as they help spread the Spirit of Christmas.

You can follow him of Facebook as Santa Lars and Mrs. Claus.
