Gunman robs Waukegan phone store

Employees and customers of a cellphone store in Waukegan were robbed at gunpoint Friday, police said Monday.

The robbery took place about 7:45 p.m. at the store on the 1300 block of North Lewis Avenue. A few customers and employees were robbed of an undisclosed amount of money and their belongings, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man, 6-foot tall, wearing a hoodie over his face. He was last seen fleeing the area on foot. Anyone with information should call the Waukegan Police Department tip line at (847) 360-9001.
