Naperville business turning anniversary into Cubs party

Dr. Nadia Carpanzano's fifth-anniversary celebration for her chiropractic business in Naperville is turning into a Cubs party.

Carpanzano, a 31-year-old Naperville native, says she's always bled Cubbie blue, despite living for a few years in enemy territory in the Missouri home of the St. Louis Cardinals. She even donned a team jersey on the dance floor during her recent wedding.

She's encouraging people to wear Cubs clothing to the free anniversary party Saturday and for each person she'll donate $5 to a Lombard-based charity called Camp Fire Illinois Prairie, which encourages kids to get outside and discover who they are. It's from 1 to 4 p.m. at Maplebrook Chiropractic, 365 E. Bailey Road, Naperville, with free hot dogs, Halloween face-painting, trick-or-treating and giveaways.

Since she saw Game 1 of the National League championship series Oct. 15 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field, Carpanzano said her love for the North Siders has been overflowing.

"I just was so overwhelmed by excitement and happiness for the Cubs," she said. "I felt like the best way to share that would be donating money and putting it toward a good cause."
