Oakton Community College getting new $4 million roof
Oakton Community College will spend $4.1 million to replace roofing at its Des Plaines campus.
The project, approved by the board of trustees last week, is part of the college's ongoing capital improvement plan. Officials say the roof work is needed to maintain the structural integrity of the building and avoid further damage to interior spaces.
The work by Alsip-based F & G Roofing Co. will begin soon and is expected to continue, weather permitting, until August 2017.
In August, the board approved a roof replacement project for Oakton's Skokie campus at a cost of nearly $2 million.
