Household waste collection

Get rid of unwanted aerosol products, motor oil, fertilizer and other chemicals at the household chemical waste collection event from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Mundelein Metra Train Station, 205 N. Archer Ave. Accepted items include all aerosol products, motor oil, antifreeze, household cleaners, driveway and deck sealers, fertilizer, pesticide, fluorescent lamps and tubes, solvents, oil-based paints, stains, varnishes, sealers and more. Business, commercial or institutional wastes, explosives and ammunition, fire extinguishers, household electronics, latex paint and tires are among items that won't be accepted.
