What you could buy for the price of a Cubs Game 6 ticket
If you've got $17,553.50 burning a hole in your pocket, you can either buy a seat two rows behind home plate for Saturday's NLCS Game 6 at Wrigley Field or a Smart car with heated seats from a St. Charles dealership.
By Friday afternoon, that was the highest single-ticket price tag on StubHub.com for a seat to the game that could clinch a Cubs World Series appearance for the first time in 71 years. Many other high-profile seats were for sale for the price of a Tiffany one-carat princess cut engagement ring ($11,300), a two-week Tahitian getaway over Christmas and New Year's ($8,788.31), or four seats in section 523 of Wrigley Field to all of the Cubs' 2017 home games ($8,430).
According to rival online ticket broker SeatGeek.com, tickets to Game 6 are being sold for an average of $665, which is $200 more than the average amount paid for a ticket to Game 1 of the NLCS played a week earlier and $250 more than the average Game 2 ticket bought through the website.
"Making this the hottest Cubs home playoff game yet," said Nate Rattner, a SeatGeek content analyst.
Just to get into Wrigley Field Saturday, a standing room only ticket through either SeatGeek or StubHub will cost Cubs - or Dodgers - fans at least $336.
