Endorsement: Kenyon for Kane County Board, District 16.

In a rematch of the last battle for the District 16 seat, Democrat Jennifer Barconi challenges Republican incumbent Mike Kenyon. Barconi, a South Elgin village trustee, has clearly done her homework and would bring a moderate and reasonable voice to the board. Kenyon has spent about a dozen years on the board and serves as president of the forest preserve district, a bonus for constituents of his district. His experience is an asset when it comes to navigating the tricky political waters on the board and his stated reason for seeking re-election, which is to keep Board Chairman Chris Lauzen "in check," implies he still has the enthusiasm and energy at age 72 to represent his district. Kenyon is endorsed.
