County budget hearings will be televised

The Lake County Board will hold budget hearings at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, and the meetings will be televised live at www.lakecounty.tv. The proposed budget is balanced, and the operating budget reflects an increase of less than 1 percent from last year. County officials say the uncertainty of the state budget and potential state funding cuts continue to place significant pressure on their budget. In response, all county departments cut their budgets by 2 percent through restructuring and other efficiency measures.
