Indianapolis man gets 20 years in prison in death of boy, 1
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indianapolis man convicted of battery and neglect in the death of a 1-year-old boy has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/2doZg5A ) 28-year-old Frank Larkins this week was given a 34-year total sentence, including eight years on work release. Six years of the sentence have been suspended.
In August, a jury found him guilty of aggravated battery, battery and two counts of neglect in the death of 20-month-old Elijah Polk.
Emergency responders called to the family's home found Diamond Miller's son dead Oct. 29, 2014. Prosecutors have said neither Miller nor Larkins, her then-boyfriend, sought medical attention for the toddler for more than a day while he showed signs of injury.
Miller was earlier was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the case.
