Boys soccer: St. Edward advances to 1A regional final

Josh Johansen and AJ Franklin each scored hat tricks as St. Edward's boys soccer team opened play in the Class 1A Hinckley-Big Rock regional Wednesday with a 7-0 win over Aurora Christian.

Will Gaston added the other goal for the Green Wave while Johansen had 3 assists and Uriel Crachure 2. Also adding assists were Sebastion Mozdzen and Zach Olenek.

Evan Sajtar made 2 saves in goal for St. Edward (16-4), which will play host Hinckley-Big Rock Friday for the regional title after H-BR eliminated Aurora Central Catholic in two overtimes Wednesday.
