Arlington Heights Fire Department to host Open House
The Arlington Heights Fire Department Open House will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Fire Station One, 300 E. Sigwalt St., in the downtown village area. Free parking is available at the Village Municipal Garage.
The event recognizes Fire Prevention Week, which is Oct. 9-15. "Don't Wait, Check the Date" is this year's Fire Prevention campaign, educating the public to replace older smoke alarms every 10 years.
The Fire Department Open House will include the Fire Safety Trailer, equipment and informational displays, demonstrations, tours of the fire station, and Sparky the Fire Dog.
This is your chance to get a close-up view of the work firefighters do, the equipment they use, and the place they stay while on duty protecting the residents of Arlington Heights.
