Candidate's business experience questionable
I recently read an article regarding the candidate for the 8th congressional district, Raja Krishnamoorthi and his experience in the treasurer's office under Alexi Giannoulias. I found it interesting that his time in the treasurer's office is being portrayed in a positive light because of "speeding up the process of returning unclaimed property" without mention of the brutal reality of record losses in the Bright Start Program during his two-year appointment.
The $150 million loss in 2008 that devastated so many middle class families was reckless money management on the part of Giannoulias & Krishnamoorthi.
Research on Spending.gov and the SBA, SBIR websites has opened my eyes about the reality of Raja's business life after the treasurer's office. He seems to be more of a rainmaker rather than an innovator, hired because of the insider connections he has after two political appointments.
His company Sivananthan Laboratories and its subsidiary companies have been awarded millions of dollars of government contracts. How is it possible for a candidate to have such a conflict of interest with millions in government contracts but then be trusted to (as he says) "work on behalf of the middle class" in the 8th District?
I am personally disgusted to learn that Raja seems to be politics as usual for the residents of the 8th District & for the people of Illinois.
