Arlington Heights library trustee won't run for another term

Arlington Heights Memorial Library Trustee Deborah A. Nelson says she will not run for a third term on the board when her seat is up for election in April.

Nelson, who is the vice president and secretary of the board, as well as chair of its policy committee, was first elected in 2009. Following her most recent election, Nelson began working at Town Square Publications, which is part of the Daily Herald Media Group. To avoid any conflict of interest, Nelson said she will not run for another term. In the future, Nelson said she will continue her work on the District 214 Education Foundation board of trustees, which is not an elected position.

"I wish to thank my fellow library board members, past a present, as well as the library staff and everyone who voted for me. It's been a really rewarding experience and special honor to serve my fellow citizens of Arlington Heights," Nelson said.
