No winner in debate

I agree with a Daily Herald editorial, the voters did not win this debate. Unlike most other presidential debates, it seems as though neither candidate really swayed many voters, if any. For the voters that are heavily liberal or conservative, no controversy, policy, or comment will ever affect their votes, whereas the moderate and borderline voters were repelled by both candidates.

It seemed as though for many highly publicized issues - gun violence, reducing the deficit, etc. - both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump had very similar plans on how to solve the problems.

Since the scandals of the race were brought into light, especially the headliners of Clinton's emails that strike massive blows and Trump's numerous irrefutable statements chipping away, it was quite difficult to focus, as the editorial stated, on "the pros or cons of the issues or how the candidates would work with Congress to deal with them."

This takes away from the true reason and initiative of presidential debates, to educate the public on the actual issues that affect America so each voter can make an informed decision come Election Day. The decision made could be of no less importance so long that it was made under true and factual pretenses.

Little additional information about any of the candidates' policies and plans was revealed.
