Worked with Department of Children and Family Services for 6 years - specializing with rape and incest survivors, as well as, families effected by HIV and AIDS. Worked for State of Illinois Public Aid for 5 years with a focus on Aged, Blind and Disabled. I have worked in retail for over 10 years and truly understand successful business practices.Elected offices held: NoneQuestions Answers Do you support or oppose construction of the Longmeadow Parkway, including the use of a toll for the crossing over the Fox River?I oppose the construction of Longmeadow Bridge. I believe the harm out weighs the benefits in said project. I do not believe the citizens should be burdened with toll road. I am also very concerned about the children in the neighborhood being so close to higher speed road.Do you agree with the Kane County State's Attorney, Kane County Public Defender and Kane County Sheriff that they require more staff? If so, where will the money come from to support that additional staff?If additional staff is needed, that can be evaluated. However, I would first evaluate the current salaries received by current staff. Salaries of over $100,000 annually would need justification prior to blanket hiring. The departments can provide plans they view will assist in reducing unnecessary spending; however I would not be comfortable just hiring without some wallet tightening first.Do you support a completely frozen Kane County property tax levy, or would you support a non-referendum increase of the county's property tax levy to factor in new construction?I support a completely frozen property tax levy. The county has been able to do fine with the status quo. If in the future, a freeze needs to be removed; I would be open to discussion. At this time, there is no reason to remove ANY freeze.What is your philosophy regarding the use of forest preserve district property? Are projects like the proposed cross country course for the former Settler's Hill Landfill appropriate?I support development of Settler's Hill, but would prefer open space for the area. recreational space needs to enjoyed by the many, not the few. I would support Hanna's idea of a recreational site including a park for families. I do not see the benefit of a cross country track that appeals to a select few of the population. I believe the recreational option does offer revenue that can be enjoyed by a wider population.Do you believe Kane County's elected officials, including the board, are fairly compensated? Or is it time to explore raises for all the elected offices?While I do believe in fair and balanced compensation for work provided, individuals need to show up for work and contribute. I do believe people needs salaries with which to live, but raises for persons making over $100,000 annually is highly questionable when such funds can be used elsewhere to benefit the entire community. I am open to a discussion on raises. However,when the board is willing to spend money on a bridge the taxpayers do NOT want; to then ask the same voters to raise the board's salary that is crossing the line of decency.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?I would like to continue Joe Haimann's work regarding increasing the bee population as means to support our community's ecosystem. I would also like to make community involvement more accessible for all individuals.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Pope Francis - non-judgmental groundbreaker who leads through example. He places service to others before personal and material gain.What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Have faith and always do what's right - When you feel alone or burdens are too much to bear, ask and God will be there.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Finding the church sooner in life.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Psychology - studying psychology helps to understand those around us.
