Fire, police open house

Lake Forest fire and police will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Public Safety building, 255 W. Deerpath Road. Visitors can slide down a fire pole, talk with police officers and firefighters, tour the building, enjoy activities and see the fleet that includes specialized vehicles. A fashion show will be at 1:30 p.m. The event also includes firefighting demonstrations, a rollover simulator, a demonstration by rescue dogs and other activities are planned.
