Great Lakes base exercise Wednesday through Friday

Naval Station Great Lakes will conduct a force protection exercise the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept 21, through the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 23. Alerts, consisting of sounding the outdoor siren system and postings to Naval Station Great Lakes social media pages at twitter.com/navstaglakes and www.facebook.com/NavalStationGreatLakes, will occur throughout the period. This exercise is designed to train Navy Security Forces and the population at the installation to respond to threats and attack. This is a regularly scheduled exercise. Nearby residents will also see and hear increased security activity associated with the exercise during the day and into the evening hours.
