Former Knox County Waste District chief charged with theft
VINCENNES, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State Police have arrested the former director of a southwestern Indiana solid waste district on five counts of theft.
Police said Tuesday that 51-year-old Tracy Clinkenbeard of Vincennes was arrested at her home Monday. She was being held Tuesday in the Knox County Jail on $15,000 bond.
The arrest followed a nearly yearlong investigation that began after board members of the Knox County Solid Waste District reported funds missing from the accounts. An Indiana State Board of Accounts audit found more than $100,000 had been embezzled between 2010 and 2015.
Online court records did not show an attorney for Clinkenbeard who might comment on the case.
