Boys golf: A stunner, in Mundelein's favor

Mundelein boys golf coach Todd Parola called it a "stunning" win.

In a battle of two undefeated teams, Mundelein shot a 144 and edged visiting Lake Forest by one stroke in a North Suburban Conference showdown at Steeple Chase Golf Club on Thursday.

Mundelein's Tyler White earned medalist honors with a 2-under-par 34. The Mustangs also counted Colin Wade's 36 and matching 37s from Brett Parola and Ryan Magee.

Lake Forest was led by Connor Polender with a 35 and Jed Thomas with a 36. Jason Folker and Scott Frevert each had a 37 for the Scouts.
