Society looks to gather John Hughes artifacts for exhibit
NORTHBROOK, Ill. (AP) - The historical society in the Chicago suburb where filmmaker John Hughes shot a number of his movies is trying to gather artifacts for an exhibit on his work.
Judy Hughes is president of the Northbrook Historical Society . She says the society hopes to gather as much material and as many stories as possible from the periods when Hughes was shooting in Northbrook. Judy Hughes is not related to the late filmmaker.
The society hopes to have the exhibit ready in time for The Shermer Club: A John Hughes Fest planned for June 2017.
According to the Chicago Tribune (http://trib.in/2cttEvF ), Hughes' film locations in Northbrook include an elementary school, the Village Hall used in "Sixteen Candles" and Glenbrook North High School in "Ferris Bueller" and other movies.
