Sky's Delle Donne out indefinitely with thumb surgery

With the WNBA playoffs fast approaching, Chicago Sky superstar Elena Delle Donne will be sidelined indefinitely after she undergoes surgery on her injured right thumb.

Delle Donne will has been out of the lineup since injuring the thumb in a game against Washington on Wednesday. Team officials said she will have surgery on Tuesday and there is no timetable for her return.

Delle Donne, who helped Team USA win a gold medal in the Rio Olympics, has averaged 21.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
