Aurora Noon Lions to host pizza, pasta fundraiser

An all-you-can-eat pizza and pasta night fundraiser will be held by the Aurora Noon Lions Club Tuesday, Sept. 20. The public is invited to the event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center, 732 Prairie St. in Aurora.

The menu will include pizza, pasta with meat sauce or meatless sauce, garden salad, jello with fruit and fruit punch.

Proceeds will benefit Lions vision- and hearing-conservation programs.

Tickets are $7 or $5 for children, age 4 to 12. Children age 3 and younger eat free.

Founded in 1922, the Aurora Noon Lions Club meets at noon on the first and third Mondays monthly at Luigi's Pizza. Prospective new members are invited to attend and learn more about the Lions' community-service activities.

Club president is Michele Needham of Plainfield. She said, "Our club gives members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, serve with friends, and become leaders in the community. This club means a lot to our Lions, but it means so much more to the people we serve. The Lions' motto is 'We Serve,' and the Aurora Noon club has lived up to it."

The Aurora Noon club supports vision and hearing-impaired initiatives while aiding community agencies such as the Salvation Army, Mutual Ground domestic violence shelter and Aurora Area Interfaith Food pantry with monetary donations and volunteers.
