2 arrested in connection with murder of 3 men in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Fort Wayne police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of three men in February.

Police told The (Fort Wayne) Journal-Gazette (http://bit.ly/2cP5MVm ) that they took into custody on Saturday 19-year-olds Darrell L. McDaniel and Artavius G. Richards of Fort Wayne.

On Feb. 24, police discovered the bodies of 23-year-old Mohamedtaha Omar, 20-year-old Adam K. Mekki and 17-year-old Muhannad A. Tairab. Police say they were each shot multiple times at close range.

The shootings caused an international outcry because two of the victims were Muslim.

But police quickly ruled out religion as a possible motive. Authorities say the victims were found in a house known for parties. A police gang unit has watched the house - although the victims were not gang members.
