Milan new signing Fernandez out at least 2 weeks
MILAN (AP) - AC Milan's new signing, Mati Fernandez, will be out at least two weeks with a thigh muscle injury.
Fernandez injured his right thigh during Chile's 0-0 draw against Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday and had to be replaced 10 minutes after entering as a substitute.
The midfielder flew back to Milan on Thursday and underwent medical tests and the club says his condition will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Italian media had reported Fernandez could be out for around a month.
Fernandez joined Milan on deadline day on loan from Fiorentina with the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.
