Anti-violence fundraiser Saturday to honor slain Des Plaines teen
An anti-violence fundraiser is scheduled Saturday night to remember a Des Plaines teen shot and killed last year in Rosemont.
The nonprofit group Patrick Lives On To End Gun Violence is holding a launch event at 8 p.m. Saturday, at The Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Ave. in Chicago. The organization plans to produce anti-gun violence public service announcements and develop after-school programs.
The event is being organized by Patricia Frontain, whose 14-year-old son, Patrick Boswell, was caught in the middle of gang crossfire in January 2015 at a Rosemont apartment complex.
Cast members from the TV series "Chicago P.D.", "Chicago Med" and "Chicago Fire" will sing, dance, and perform improv and standup at the event. General admission is $100.
