Local Superintendents Speak at AAUW Meeting in Gurnee

A panel of local school superintendents will be featured Saturday, September 10 when the Waukegan Area Branch of the American Association of University Women holds its first meeting for the 2016-2017 season at the Gurnee Police Department Community Room.

The program, entitled Empowering Girls, Empowering Boys, will feature superintendents from Waukegan Unit District 60, Beach Park Elementary District 3, Woodland Elementary District 50 and an associate superintendent from Libertyville-Vernon Hills High School District 128.

One of 1,000 local chapters across the country, the AAUW chapter was organized in 1928 and represents all communities in northeast Lake County, Illinois. A founding group for the Lake County Women's Coalition, the AAUW Waukegan chapter is a nonpartisan, nonprofit group that empowers women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.
