Aurora Methodist vocalists to perform 'Art in Parlor' concert Sept. 9

Two local vocalists will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora.

The public is invited. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Aurora resident Joseph Rigaud and Felicia Patton of Chicago will perform in the church's parlor room in an "Art in the Parlor" series.

A native Auroran, Rigaud teaches third grade at Hall Elementary School in Aurora. He studied violin and viola with the Suzuki Method of instruction and is self-taught on the guitar. Rigaud has sung with several choirs, including the Eastern Illinois University show choir. He has performed in musicals including "The King and I," "Footloose" and "Sound of Music." At Wesley UMC, he sings with the contemporary praise team.

Patton directs traditional worship music at Wesley UMC. As a high school senior, she performed at the Lyric Opera House in Chicago. At North Park University, where Patton earned a bachelor's of music degree in music and worship, she performed in gospel choir, jazz choir, jazz band, guitar ensemble and on worship teams.
