Who's Who in Health Care: Len Wilk, President, CEO AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center
Len Wilk is president and chief executive officer of AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center Hoffman Estates. The medical center is a 339-bed facility that has provided outstanding health care to the residents of the northwest suburbs for over 35 years.
Ranked one of the best regional hospitals by U.S. News and World Report, AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center treats more than 18,000 people as inpatients at the medical center and performs over 7,600 outpatient surgeries each year.
Prior to joining AMITA Health, Mr. Wilk served more than 20 years with Aurora Health Care of Milwaukee, where he was president and chief administrative officer of Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin. He earlier led two other Aurora Health Care hospitals in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Milwaukee.
He also served for more than four years as vice president, physician support & business development, for Aurora Health Care.
He earned a bachelor's degree in business management at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master's degree in health administration at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois.
Early in his career, he served as director, medical staff development, at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Care Center in Chicago, and as corporate manager, physician support services, at Franciscan Sisters HealthCare System in Little Falls, Minnesota.
