Who's Who in Health Care: Kristen Murtos, President, NorthShore Skokie Hospital, NorthShore University HealthSystem

President, NorthShore Skokie Hospital, NorthShore University HealthSystem

Kristen Murtos first joined NorthShore University HealthSystem in 1998, serving as vice president of the NorthShore Medical Group.  She has worked extensively in medical group development, physician alignment, clinical service line management, mergers and acquisitions, and strategy and business development.

Currently she serves as president of Skokie Hospital, where she is responsible for operations, management, strategic planning and program development.

In addition to her responsibilities as president at Skokie Hospital, she oversees corporate marketing and communications, population health and the orthopedic service line at NorthShore.

Prior to joining NorthShore, Murtos worked with Deloitte Consulting where she assisted health care providers, payers and manufacturing clients with operational improvement, market strategy, delivery system integration and care management.

Murtos has a bachelor's degree from University of Illinois and earned master's degrees in business administration and public policy from the University of Chicago. She serves on the boards of the North Suburban Healthcare Foundation, The American Joint Replacement Registry, Village of Skokie Economic Development Commissions and on the Advisory Board for the Kindness Connection, which promotes volunteerism for school age children.
