Who's Who in Health Care: Kathleen Yosko, President and CEO of Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheaton

Since 1998, Kathleen Yosko has served as president and chief executive officer of Marianjoy Inc., Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and Marianjoy Medical Group. Marianjoy is a network of inpatient, subacute and outpatient physical rehabilitation delivering a full range of services to both adults and children. The network includes the Marianjoy Medical Group, a physician group that specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation, including evaluations, electromyography and diagnostic programs. Each year, more than 50,000 patients are seen within the service network.

Prior to joining Marianjoy, Yosko served as president and CEO of Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Care Network, a 125-bed comprehensive rehabilitation facility. She began her career as a registered nurse/clinical specialist in rehabilitation at the Veterans Hospital University and Highland Drive Campuses in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the Vietnam War. It was through providing care to those young wounded warriors that she developed her 40 year history of serving people with disabilities as a clinician, administrator and disability advocate. From 2007 through 2008, Yosko served as the chairwoman of the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association. AMRPA is a nonprofit trade organization representing free-standing rehabilitation hospitals, rehabilitation units in general hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation facilities, several skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies that provide medical rehabilitation services to over 700,000 people annually.
