President, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital
Karen Lambert has served as president of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington since 2001. Under her leadership, Good Shepherd Hospital has earned numerous distinctions including Magnet Nursing designation and recognition among the Nation's 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics.
During her tenure, the hospital has experienced increased growth, the development of several service lines and an extensive outpatient network. Currently, Good Shepherd Hospital is embarking on the largest modernization project in its history-ensuring care delivery remains outstanding and attuned to the evolving needs of the community.
Lambert has worked for Advocate Health Care since 1985. Prior to coming to Good Shepherd Hospital, Lambert worked at Advocate Christ Medical Center for 15 years and was part of the senior management team serving as director of orthopedic, rehabilitation and laboratory and pathology services. During this time she also served as interim director for Hope Children's Hospital.
Lambert holds a Master of Science in rehabilitation counseling from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Delaware in Newark.
She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and currently serves as director, Barrington Area Community Foundation Board and member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
