Welcome autumn at Harvest Bonfire in Schaumburg

Say hello to the season of pumpkin spice and everything nice at the Schaumburg Park District's Harvest Bonfire at Volkening Heritage Farm.

The event is set for 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road. It features a wagon ride through Spring Valley and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire. Participants also will enjoy a lantern-lit tour of the historic barn and farmhouse.

"The Harvest Bonfire is a great way to kickoff the fall season," said Patty Kennedy, Heritage Farm program coordinator. "This event is a simple and fun way to enjoy a night out."

Admission is $7 per person and free for children 3 and younger.
