Amendment rejection keeps 'status quo' in power

I see that our Illinois Supreme Court has turned down the proposed referendum to vote on the redistricting of our precincts in the coming November election.

The proposal was ruled unconstitutional at the pleading by an attorney with past ties to none other than Michael Madigan. Again, the will of the people has been nullified and the same old tired excuses are offered.

We will never dislodge the "status quo" of politicians who have been in office for years and make every decision in their own interests and not ours.

What happened to "by the people, for the people?"

The state is rushing toward complete bankruptcy and all these people think of is themselves and how to feather their own nests.

Democracy is long gone from Illinois. Every political move is for the benefit of their own selfish goals and ignores the welfare of the people. Don't they see that we are all in this together and, when all the voters and taxpayers have left, there will be nobody here to pay taxes and everything will collapse?

I am just an ordinary woman and I can see this clearly. Why can't our leaders?
