Buffalo Grove Days opens in Mike Rylko Community Park

Buffalo Grove Days opened Thursday night in the festival's new home at Mike Rylko Community Park, ushering in a big weekend of activities for the Labor Day holiday.

Main stage entertainers Friday through Sunday will include the country cover band Mason Rivers, 7th Heaven, Soulified, "American Idol" finalist Haley Reinhart with the Midnight Band, Boy Band Review and the Eagles tribute band Heartache Tonight.

Carnival hours are 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 11 p.m. Sunday and 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday.

There also will be a variety of entertainers on the midway, including stilt walkers, clowns, sports mascots, balloon artists and Disney characters.

The BBQ Challenge will be Saturday, with the parade and the Rotary Duck Race following Sunday. Saturday and Sunday also will feature an arts and crafts fair and a business fair.
