Vernon Hills 3, Lake Forest 1: Chris White picked up his eighth and ninth goals of the season and added an assist for the host Cougars in the nonconference match.

"We have been playing some good soccer as of late," Vernon Hills coach Mike McCaulou said. "Lake Forest presented us with some challenges tonight and it was a physical game. They made it difficult in the final third to link up and play quick soccer, but we had two really well-worked finishes that made the difference tonight."

Kody Anderson, Ruben Delgadillo and Hugo Flores also scored for Warren (5-0-1). Flores and Jason Schulz each had a pair of assists. Anderson, Noe Rodriguez and Niko Jokic also had assists. The shutout was shared by Jeffery Pioquinto and Hunter Faurbo.

Lakes 3, Maine East 0: Cam Beezley had 2 goals in the first half, and Nick Dydo tallied in the second half for the Eagles, who improved to 2-3.
