Still some stragglers among the GOP

When I watched Peter Thiel, the openly homosexual founder of PayPal, speak at the Republican National Convention, I thought that the GOP had finally joined the rest of us in the 21st century, accepting every American's right to marry whomever they please.

I was alarmed to discover that there are still stragglers in the Grand Old Party. Seth Lewis, the Republican running for state senate in my district, took money from an extremist pressure group that opposes same-sex marriage despite the fact that marriage equality is the law of the land.

This bigotry has no place in American politics. I will not be voting for Mr. Lewis this year.
